Will the Third Time be the Charm for Halle Berry: TMZ Confirms Engagement to Olivier Martinez

TMZ.com has confirmed that Oscar award winning actress, Halle Berry is indeed engaged to her boyfriend of two years – French actor Olivier Martinez! You may recognize Olivier from his roles in Unfaithful (with Richard Gere and Diane Lane) and SWAT (LL Cool J and Sam Jackson) - as the bad guy Alex Montel. She’s 45 – he’s 46. This will be her 3rd marriage (She was previously married to baseball player David Justice and R&B singer Eric Benet).

Halle has received a lot of flack for the way she’s handled her relationship with Martinez, in particular – what many perceive to be the double standard between the restrictions she has put on Gabriel (Nahla’s daddy) when it comes to who he can and can not have around their daughter – and how she she appeared to not show the same restraint or judgement with Olivier and Nahla.

With the news of their engagement, perhaps the critics will have some hindsight understanding? After all, involving your child in every “fling” you have is different than making them a part of your serious, marriage bound relationship. We don’t know the details, but perhaps Halle knew that Gabriel was more of a serial dater than a man looking for a serious relationship? Eh, I dunno – but either way, the judge presiding over their case agreed with Halle – so I guess that’s really all that matters.
