Beyonce & Jay-Z at Carnegie Hall and The Year of Blue!

Jay-Z gave a concert last night at Carnegie Hall to benefit the United Way and Shawn Carter foundations. His wife, Beyonce – also made her first appearance since giving birth to their first child, Blue Ivy Carter.

Jay performed hits including 99 Problems, Hard Knock Life,  and New York State of Mind. He also performed his latest hit, ”Glory” – a tribute to his daughter – after which he said to the crowd: “I didn’t think I was going to make it through that one,” [sounding emotional]. “That was tough.”

This was Bey’s first appearance since the January birth of B.I.C – and she looked absolutely gorgeous! She wore a gorgeous red dress from Alice by Temperly, shoes by Louboutin, and jewelry from Ofira and Lorraine Schwartz.

While her dress was red – her nails and cocktail ring were blue (a not sosubtle shout-out to her daughter, most likely). You can also see her ring finger tattoo “IV” which is the Roman numeral 4. She and Jay have matching tat’s in the same location.

Earlier this week her website posted a congrutulations to the New York Giants on their superbowl win, with the simple title “The Year of Blue”.  An obvious reference to not only the Giant’s but her daughter, Blue Ivy.
